The 2020 season cut short many ball dreams this year, but 2021 PC is back with a bang! Ā鶹ӳ»“«Ć½ Softball team will head to the NJCAA National Softball Tournament in Oxford, Alabama, May 25-29, representing their region and conference.
āSince COVID cut short our 2020 season, we were 25-0 and ranked number 1 in the nation. Ten players came back for their third year in order to finish the job of winning the title,ā said head coach Heinz Mueller. āThese players are so excited. Many already have their AA degree too. The team overall has a GPA of 3.42. They are truly committed and excited to have the opportunity to play at Nationals and represent Ā鶹ӳ»“«Ć½.ā
In addition, the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference awarded Player of the Year to Ali Ashner and Pitcher of the Year Brianna Hardy. More players were All Conference-All Region and All American considerations: Jocellyn Laflesch, Caroline Chilton, Veronica Chavez, Kamryn Moctezuma and Natalie Castro.
This is the 18th time PCās softball team has gone to the NJCAA National Tournament under Coach Muellerās supervision. PC has the honor of being of NJCAA Region I Division II Champions 17 times since 1990, when the program began.
Not to be left behind, the PC baseball team made it to nationals as well.
